Marei was responsible for the concept and creative direction for 4 venues within the newly renovated Westin Chosun Hotel In Seoul. The Ninth Gate Grille – an international brasserie with a focus on grilled menus. Serving throughout the day, open wood-fired ovens were installed into the exhibition kitchen not only as a grilling station but also as an eco-friendly method of utilizing retained heat. The Circle, the signature of the new lobby, is a timeless, elegant yet welcoming crossroads of a diversified clientele that transitions from daytime lounge to nightime bar. The afternoon menu features premium coffee, tea, herbal infusions and pastries. The evening menu features cool cocktails, wines, champagnes and fine whiskeys and cognacs. The Payard Boutique is the gateway entrance to The Circle, showcasing Payard brand’s confections in an upscale jewelry shop-type setting with white glove service. One is a wedding preview room planned with a luscious seating area, The Atelier (table setting room), Culinary Center (tasting room/cooking class) and private consultation rooms for brides-to-be and families to plan their wedding. Marei also designed and selected the tabletop items for the wedding banquets.

The Vecchia e Nuovo flagship opened in Seoul. In preparation for the client’s planned business expansion, the existing brand was given a new life with the concept “Comfort Food in the City”. A down-to-earth hip neighborhood bakery café with a focus on premium organic, free-trade coffees; rustic artisan breads and wholesome pastry items; extensive sandwich, panini, salad and hot menu cooked with hand-picked ingredients served on chunky classic white bistro ware. The BI program incorporated dynamic branding, introducing new sub-logos, and development of a conscientious, generic recyclable packaging system.
